Once again, several members of the University of León (ULE) represented the BioBIVE consortium at the XII Conference of Women Researchers of Castilla y León, a regional event that brings together women researchers from academia and industry across Castilla y León (Spain). The conference celebrates the outstanding scientific talent of the region while highlighting the achievements of women who serve as role models for future generations of researchers.
During the event, Dr. Ana Ibáñez introduced the BioBIVE project, presenting its overall vision, objectives and the complementary expertise contributed by each consortium partner. Her presentation showcased the project’s multidisciplinary approach, spanning microbial biotechnology, marine biotechnology, advanced materials design, material functionalisation and plant biotechnology. Ms. Olga Galán presented the latest progress on the selection of bioactive agents against major pathogens affecting the European horticultural sector, while Ms. Celia Díez shared her work on the optimisation of molecular pathogen detection through the development of qPCR probes for accurate pathogen quantification.
BioBIVE’s participation in the conference reflects the consortium’s commitment not only to scientific excellence and innovation, but also to promoting the visibility of women in research and inspiring the next generation of scientists.
