Researchers from the Universidad de León (ULE) presented the BioBIVE project at the Congreso Nacional de Microbiología Industrial y Biotecnología Microbiana (CMIBM) 2026 through an invited lecture. The congress was organised by the Grupo de Microbiología Industrial y Biotecnología Microbiana de la Sociedad Española de Microbiología (SEM), and the 2026 edition was held in collaboration with the Universidad Pública de Navarra (UPNA). As one of Spain’s leading meetings in the field of applied microbiology and microbial biotechnology, CMIBM brings together researchers from academia and industry to discuss the latest advances in microbial-based technologies, industrial processes and sustainable biotechnological applications.
During the invited presentation, the ULE team showcased the BioBIVE project and highlighted its multidisciplinary approach combining microbial biotechnology, advanced materials and sustainable agriculture. The lecture focused on the development of biodegradable controlled-release platforms and innovative crop protection strategies, underlining the potential of BioBIVE to contribute to a more sustainable and resilient European agricultural sector.
