BioBIVE SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY, TRONDHEIM, (NORWAY)

BioBIVE is a cross-border research initiative supported by Horizon Europe, focused on creating sustainable, bio-based, and bioactive delivery systems to combat fungal plant pathogens in a wide range of crops.

On June 24–25, SINTEF’s Biotechnology and Nanomedicine department hosted the M13 General Assembly in Trondheim, gathering all 16 project partners from six different countries — a total of 44 participants.

Now, after a full year of collaborative effort, the project has reached a pivotal stage: preparations are underway to combine the first bioactive compounds with selected delivery platforms. These will be tested both in vitro and in controlled plant pot and small planter trials.

The assembly featured progress updates, constructive technical discussions on next steps and challenges, a guided tour of SINTEF’s research facilities, and a scenic walk through Trondheim’s charming city center.
