VLCI’s role in the consortium will be focused in formulation development and testing, and in digitalization of the data generated during the project to reduce R&D costs while maximizing the desired properties of the products developed. This will include:

• To characterize the ingredients of interest to the consortium according to the HLD (Hydrophilic-Lipophilic difference) and HSP (Hansen Solubility Parameters) frameworks and use that information to help in the formulation of products, increasing their efficiency and stability.
• To digitalize the information about ingredients and formulations acquired during the project, and provide an online platform to discuss and improve the products created by the consortium.
• To share (with consensus of the consortium) selected ingredients formulation parameters with PrediApps users, encouraging their inclusion in future formulations.
• The desired outcome is a more rational, efficient, and re-usable way of formulating products, taking advantage of the more advanced frameworks (HLD and HSP), the latest technologies (High throughput experimentation and testing) and our almost 20 years of experience in the formulation world.

This will reduce the time, money and effort required for the development of the consortium’s products, a more transparent view of each ingredient properties and their effect on the formulations, and a set of parameters, equations and guidelines to use the new bio-based ingredients in market products.
